A Word In time
Can u keep a secret?Sometimes being able to keep a secret is important to receiving God's blessings.Words spoken out of season can get us into trouble. Sometimes you have to keep to yourself the details of those great and wonderful promises, until the appointed time. Remember, we are partners with God in this blessing thing. You can make it easy, or you can make it more difficult than it has to be.Not everyone is going to be happy about the things God has promised you. Satan certainly wont be. He will raise his ugly head to question you to dislodge your faith. Others will be just plain jealous because God didn't promise them the same thing. People who wait on God's promises may be viewed as unrealistic dreamers. And people don't like dreamers. Dreamers make people uncomfortable, perhaps because dreamers expose a lack of vision and a sense of purposelessness that other people may be feeling. Joseph found this out the hard way.
Genesis 37:3-5 "...37:5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.
You know e rest of e story. The brothers focused on Joseph's dream even more than he did, I think, and they were so incensed that they sought his harm.
Genesis 37:9-11
9Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me."
10So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?" 11And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
18Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. 19Then they said to one another, "Look, this dreamer is coming! 20Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, "Some wild beast has devoured him.' We shall see what will become of his dreams! " Joseph had spoken too soon. Although he didn't know it, his dreams would not be realized for years. Now, mind you, God used e evil plot of Joseph's brothers to position Joseph exactly where he needed to be in order for his dream to be fulfilled. The bottom line is that sometimes we bring unnecessary complications into our lives by speaking out of time. I find it interesting that when his dreams were fulfilled, Joseph wasn't as quick to reveal his identity to his brothers. he had learned a thing or two about timing.
Even God doesn't tell us everything at once. Although He already knows all e details of our lives. He gives us only as much as He knows we can handle at any given time. Too much information at e wrong time is not a good thins. It leaves too much room for error, misunderstanding, confusion, and strife of various kinds.
Sometimes you just have to keep things to yourself until they come into ful manifestation. The enemy of your soul wil use others to try to steal , kill, and destroy e dream God has placed in your life. Even after e dream has been birthed, he keeps on trying. But we can sometimes prevent e abortion of God's dreams by learning how to hold our words for e right season.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,7,11
1To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven...
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
11He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Now e word wait is not a pasive word. Waiting can be quite active. Wait on e Lord to take care of what He said while you delight yourself serving Him. Keep moving forward toward His promise. Do what it takes to be in position to receive His blessing. The best position to be in is as close to God as you can get, right smack to e center of his will, doing what He's called you to do. God tells us secrets so we will draw closer to Him to hear and see e rest, not so we will burst into action trying to bring about what he has spoken or to convince others of what He said. The proof will be in e pudding soon enough. What You Say Is What You Get
Truly e power of life & death is in e tongue. Have you ever shared a secret longing with others only to have them destroy your hope? They spoke doubt and death to your dream. They took e joy out of it and killed it for you. Perhaps you walked away resolved to no longer pursue your dream. You convinces yourself that what they said made sense. You disregarded e power of God to do e impossible. He knows what our mouth can do;therefore He will either not tell us whta He is going to do, or He will arrest us by His Spirit to keep what he has spoken under wraps. We must be sensitive to e leading of e Spirit when this occurs, recognizing e right moment to speak up.
When e angel told Zechariah, e husband of Mary's cousin, Elizabeth, that they would have a son in their old age who would be e forerunner, e poor old man had a hard time believing.
20But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time." .
22But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless.
64Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, praising God.
How's that for keeping a person out of e way?
Zechariah was not able to speak until he was able to confess e Word of God Notice that Elizabeth had no problem aligning herself with God's chosen name for e baby. She was adamant and would not e moved by e crowd.
If you must share what God revealed to you, make sure you choose someone who is able to match your faith. An inspiring minister Tim Story says, " Look for your Elizabeth." Mary knew whom to seek out when she was overwhelmed with her miraculous situation. She sough out e companionship and encouragement of Elizabeth, & Elizabeth was able to exhort Mary because she was experiencing her own miracle!
Even so God will require you to do as Mary did and ponder what He has told in your heart. Even if others receive a witness in their heart concerning God's promise to you & they confirm what has been resting in your spirit, even then continue to guard it.
Mary & baby Jesus..."Mary treasured up all these thing & pondered them in her heart"
When God has spoken a word to you, He will send others to confirm it.They will be people who are in e Spirit. They will be people who anxiously await e fulfillment of God's agenda, not their own. They are not selfish or self-consumed.Their will is lost inside His;therefore, they are not inclined to think negatively about a person who is being set up for promotion or blessing. When you are believing for e incredible, extraordinary blessings of God, chances are you're going to have a long labor in e birthing process.
Birthing e Vision
God's blessings & promises are like that . Others who induce labor for whatever reason typically find that pain of e delivery process is intensified. The body is unprepared for delivery. When we to make things happen either though our actions or e things we say, I believe it sends shock waves through e spirit realm that cause unnecessary tension or pressure. But e mother who simply lets nature takes its course, though not escaping e pain, fares better than e one who induced e delivery.
Prosperity theologians urge christians to "name it, claim it, and frame it". They say that confession is evrything & if you cant confess it, you can't get it. We must find e balance in this line of thinkking. What we must confess daily is who God is and what He is able to do, not e specific expectation of blessing.
Can God keep a secret?
From e beginning God was plotting & planning e salvation of e world, giving hints along e way that could not be fully comprehended. I have this picture in my mind of all e angels in heaven saying,
"What is God up to?"
"What is He going to do?"
"Why is e Lamb going down e earth?"
"Why is God allowing His son to be killed?"
"What is this all about???"
Then all if a sudden-bam!The entire picture is revealed. Christ dies, resurrected, & ascends back to heaven with e keys of death & hell in Hi s hands. And all of heaven has one giant "Ah! Now I see!" moment.
Satan couldn't mess up e plan because, for one thing, He didn't even know it. God didn't utter a word, He just did His thing, and now we are blessed because of it. We have favor because of e blood of Jesus. If satan had known what e crucifixion would have accomplished, he would never have had Jesus killed. Remember, silence is your friend. A word out of season can be your worst enemy & rob you of your blessings.
So do you feel like you Will just burst with anticipation of what God is going to do in your life? If He said it, he will do it. So for your sake, before you explode, write it down. The written word has power and is subject to no one.
"Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that
herald may run with it.For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."
For no word of God shall be void of power (Luke 1:37)
Seek validation & confirmation only form e Spirit of God. When He is e One who has spoken e promise, he will surely bring it to pass. The gate of hell cannot prevail against e blessings He has stored up for you, but waiting wisely for their delivery is key.
Mary didn't run around screaming to e world, "My baby is e Son of God, and things He's going to save everybody~"No, she rested in e knowledge of e things that had been told to her, pondering them in her heart, and she was blessed!
