But e counselor, e Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give you as e world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14 :26-27
God wants you to focus on Jesus's light. The holy spirit wants you to be Jesus-focused.(whilst e Devil wants you to be focused on yourself)
Your true self is in Christ.
The Holy Spirit teaches you ALL things.
We feel good/young/without blemish -> because of Jesus's work on e Cross; grace & peace is multiplied in our lives.
Colossians 3:15
let e peace of Jesus rule(make all decisions) in your heart.
("rule" - Greek word : umpire)
Peace : Shalom - Jesus's very own peace, bequeathed to us by Jesus.
"Shalom" in e sense refers to e welfare, health, prosperity, peace ->everything intact
A state of health & well-being. God wants you to be in a state of perpetual state of Shalom, on e inside as well on e outside. The devil on e other hand wants to disturb that peace.
Cf.Isaiah 57:19 - "Peace, peace to those far & near,"says e Lord. "And I will heal them" -> when you confess "Peace, peace/shalom, shalom" the Lord will heal you.
Grace & peace go together : Romans 1
Grace can be multiplied. The favour of God can be multiplied in your life by you knowing God -> the more you know Jesus, e more e favour of God is in your life.
All believers have this peace. It's a matter of how to multiply it.]
On our part :
"Let not your hearts be troubled" - otherwise, you're insulting e inheritance of Jesus.
It's an injunction of love, because God loves you very much.
Then you'll walk in health, prosperity & peace.
Grace gave you everything from Heaven. Peace will retain it.
Cf. e bleeding woman
When Jesus said "Go in peace & be healed of your affliction", Jesus meant " Go into peace/go into shalom & continue to be well" - divine health
Shalom means "it's going to be alrite"/all is well with my soul
Devil-agitates your emotions, troubles your mind, cannot mange a peaceful Christian;
The devil is restless(cf.parable of restless evil spirit going out to dry & arid place)
If you don't let your hearts be troubled, if it's a miracle you need, you'll get it.
"Disease" - means "dis-ease" - troubled in heart : therefore, don't let your heart be troubled on e inside & e Lord will take care of things/matters on e outside.
Proverbs 4 : 20-23
Above all else, guarding your heart, for it affects everything you do.( it is e well spring of life/for out of it are e issues of life)
The quality of life is wat you believe in your heart.
A tranquil heart is e life of e body(Proverbs 14:30)
The peace of Jesus is rugged, not affected by world circumstances.
Peter was always troubled before;yet, he was able to sleep e nite before his execution.
2 Kings 4 : 20-26
Mother said "Shalom" - ie. It's going to be alrite/well/ Everything is going to be alrite.
1 Peter 3: 11
Let him seek peace & ensue it.(KJV)/ He must seek peace & pursue it.(NIV)
Then you'll enjoy life!
God respect you when you respect His son/what his son did. God is impressed with His son, not with your self-consciousness. Jesus is e Lamb of God, perfect, beautiful.
A greek scholar once said, peace is e result of forgiveness & joy. This is spiritually supported in John 20:19-23:
Peace -> through e work of e Lord - ie. Revelation of e perfection of Jesus's work on e Cross.
Forgiveness -> Jesus's wounds
Joy -> when e disciples saw Jesus(ie. Joy comes thru e person of e Lord)
And with that, He breathed on them & said, "Receive e Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
->explanation of this verse : releasing of e sins of your enemies, in order not to retain their sins in your body. The power given to us is not to retain sins but to release sins.
->also includes forgiving yourself of any sins that you feel guilty of. many of us are in an internal war.
Don't allow anyone to use guilt against you.
Grace & peace be with you all! =)
