survival kit

Here is another night. Judas then went out immediately. And it was night (John 13:30). Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers…came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons(John 18:3)
When Jesus went into the Garden of Gethsemane, He led the disciples. They carried no torches or lanterns. He resorted often to that grove of olives trees to pray; therefore, He knew every path. It was moonlight, but dark under the trees. Without Him, they needed lanterns. John remembered Christ’s words: “I am the light oh the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life”(John 8:12)”

This simple message just reminded me on what Pastor Mark preached on BS & Sunday. The Chinese culture would believe in putting in the deceased mouth three things, a coin, grains of rice & a pearl as their “Hell survival kit”. Then it caught me that Judas also brought three “survival kit” along with him. Hee~ Still seeking to know what these three things signifies.
The important truth we need to know is, without Jesus you’ll be lost in the dark. The example of Judas clearly shows that without Jesus in our life, you’ll be searching your own path, fighting your own battle and fueling your own torch.

But with Jesus, He leads and provides the lamp. Because He IS the way & the light!=D
