It’s been an awesome time these pass two days. Ended 2006 with a message of Rest by Pastor & a time well spent with my close friends. Had a good time of sharing with Wen Jun & Cindy in Coffee Club Taka after service the whole afternoon besides lunching with the SIM cg. I thank God for them. Although we may not have met up as often as we used to, but God has maintained this friendship. So much was accomplished in just a “few” hours of sharing. We went over to Ryan’s place to gather with our ex cg for a time of fellowship & worship. Coincidentally, Elaine happen to be staying below Ryan’s house=)so I stayed over at her place. I found out later too that it was Ryan that first introduced her to NCC.
I stepped into 2007 with greater peace & love in my heart. Thanks to Elaine & her family. You’ve given me so much, a “lesson” and a picture of a house built on God’s love.
It happen when we were having the muffins we baked the other day for breakfast with her sister that early new year’s morning…her mother came up to us and suggested to go to Pulau Ubin to cycle. We all looked at her in disbelief. A look that says, “Are you kidding?”=) I was more tickled by the fact that her mum was more adventurous & energetic than us. But then I thought it was pretty fun too. So we agreed to her calling. Hee~Shortly after that, her adorable p6 sister turned to us & quietly whispered, “I’ve not finish my homework”Hee~
Oh how I love her sister. Just bonded so well with her. Elaine said that she was exceptionally chatty that day because of me. Haha~Her sister Kimberly was telling us the whole day about a bird at the guard house that died bec it fell down after banging itself on the wall.Hehe~My conclusion to the fall was maybe he’s blind?=)The mum said maybe some sand went into the birds eye..Hee~what do you think?=)
We first went over to changi village to have nasi lemak. The mum said it was one of Pastor Prince favourite. We queue so long for it but well it was worth it.
We spent four hours cycling round Pulau Ubin stopping in between to look for crabs & mudskipper(Kimberly’s favourite), trees, mangroves, fishes, …Just come to realize that the main focus for all the stops was the joy that comes from seeing the smile & the excitement on Kimberly’s face when she spotted them. We all gave extra safety & protection for her. Even when we were eating, we made sure she had enough. And when she ate more then us for dinner, we were all so happy for her, more so her parents.
How Daddy God would smile at us when we learn to rest in His protection, when we smile at His discoveries for us, when we yield to what is best for us(Kimberly was complaining about the helmet she had to wear for her safety, but she still obeyed her dad even though she felt uncomfortable in it)
It was one of my best outings and a good beginning for the year. Being with the family gave me such a supernatural peace and love in my heart. It made me want to be the mum in this family, it made see the blessing of a blessed marriage. A one day experience gave me so much. Elaine you’re so blessed to have them around you & I’m more blessed to have known a dear sister like you=)
How much more when you experience this everyday with the family that God is bringing to you. It’ll be a home of love, peace, and safety.
