His desire is toward me

I was having a conversation with two dear sisters of mine one day when one of them mentioned to me a verse a Coach from campus gave her.

Gen 3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

What do you understand from this simple verse? It was a curse given to all women after Eve ate the forbidden fruit.

What was the curse?
It was that she would experience great pain when she gives birth.

Have you realized that there was another curse given to her following that?

“..and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

A desire for her husband being a curse??My other fren turned to me confused as I was and commented, “You mean I’m not to desire or like him? What is the difference?”

She then explained to us in terms of gals today desiring idols, or even woman today who would do anything to exchange their love for a man.
But I was still unsettled in my heart. So they gave me an assignment to go home and check out the Hebrew meaning for the word desire=)

We all know that in the New Covenant, Jesus has borne all our pain and sicknesses on the Cross and that includes labour pain=D

If I do not know this truth given to me, I’ll not experience it. What then is the reverse of the curse “desiring over a husband”?
I looked into the word desire in Strong’s and it simply means a longing after.
This same word is only mentioned three times in the Bible
{(Gen 3:16, 4:7 & Songs 7:10)
But is only until today as I was reading it, it became clear to me=)

Son 7:10  I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.

Do you see it God’s beloved? It is His desire towards the bride=)There’s a reverse in the order! It reminded me then of what I told my fren the other at the table,
“He just told me this, it will be Jesus giving the man to us first, He will look for us the man and it will be his desire for us first”
What a great confirmation to the things spoken to us by the spirit in His Word.

This is the illustration He gave me. In the Bible, the mention of bridegroom or husband usually represents Jesus and we the bride of Christ. Ephesians 5: 25, 26 paint this very clearly,
Eph 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

It was Christ who first woos us to Him. It was Christ who first found us and loved us.
We were the ones who’s lost looking for love in the wrong places, but the Lover found us. He romance us with His words of love. Songs of Solomon is good read on a Beloved romancing His lover=)

To have a consciousness that it’s about His desire for us is prove of a real progress of the condition of the heart. A true sign of maturity.

Look here and see if you spot the difference.
Son 2:16  My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
Son 6:3  I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.
Son 7:10  I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.

She moved from being a possessive person, the beloved only belonging to her to a consciousness that she belongs to him. What is more secure than to know that His love for us is greater than our love for him.
We are bought with a price, and it cause God’s own dear son. Who would auction something that’s not valuable. Not to signify that you are like the object in the auction, but if it cause God SO much to give up His son, it shows how valuable you are to Him.

It's like the writings in John, "I am the one whom Jesus loves" or "I'm God's beloved".

Let his desire first be for you. You are a priceless treasure. Do not desire him and let him rule after you. But first let Abba love you, then you’ll better understand this love.

This is the result of how beautiful when you allow him to first love you,
then was I in his eyes as one that found favour”(Songs 8:10)

You will have favour with him!His eyes will be for you=)

Have your love for Jesus grew since the day you accepted him?Are you more in love with Him now?But wasn’t He the one who first found you. Think about it=)But what made you so secure in this, is knowing that it’s not about our love for Him, because our love for him wavers, but knowing about His love for us that never changes!
