Why does everything seem so slow outwardly

Was just asking the Lord yesterday, "Why does everything on the outside seem so slow? Why am I not seeing progress?"
The Lord said this to me clearly, "Because I am more concern on what is inside. The change that happens"

I went into my room shortly after that and pick up a book that was on my bed. I flipped open to this passage written by Dr. Neil T. Anderson,

"What sort of people you ought to be in holy conduct and godliness"(2Peter3:11)
Jesus said, "But seek ye first His kingdom and His righteousness. and all these things shall be added to you, therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow" (Matthew 6:33, 34)
Again I hear the protest, "Are you trying to tell us that we aren't to make any plans for the future or establish any goals for our ministry and work?" No,I'm trying to say that the primary focus of God's will is that we seek to establish His kingdom by becoming the person he wants us to be today. I'm not really sure that God's will enters into the choice of whether we become an engineer, plumber or nurse. But I am convinced that God's will is concerned with what kind of engineer, plumber or nurse we are."

How often we look for affirmation on the outside. We look at our frens who's moving faster than we are in our work place. They got their promotion and you are still at the same state. We get frustrated at times. People in the world or even our close ones praise us when they see the outward change. Bigger the better. More the merrier.

How many would praise someone who extends a hand of kindness. Who cleans up and stacks the chair after service. Who would praise you for keeping silence for the times you wanted to blow it. Who knows it when you talk to Abba and pray for your frens. No one but God alone sees.

He sees the change in you. He knows the days when you're alone on your bed wondering if anyone cares. You hear His whispers of peace and assurance to you.
You draw closer to Him each time. You grew stronger within.

If you ever wonder next time about the outward change, look within.
Have you grow to love more, to be more patient, to listen more, to know His love more?
When everything outside seem stagnant, take no thought at it.
Because true growth comes from within. For it is the Lord who works IN you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

He is setting you up for a bigger plan. And He knows that for you to be ready for it, you need to first be ready inside. You are called for great things!
