A cool entry by peer.Something not to be missed...=)love it.
The altar call
I always wondered why pple lack enthusiasm in clapping hands and cheering for pple going up to receive salvation. Even i myself was not particularly excited until the Spirit revealed this.. =) ever attended a wedding before? What happens when the door opens, the bride steps in and takes her well-rehearsed yet highly-looked-forward steps and walks towards the altar where the bridegroom and the pastor had been waiting all this while? Hahaha... this is exactly what happens when a person goes up to receive salvation! Jesus is the Bridegroom, who has been waiting since the beginning of age, and Ps Prince (or whichever pastor/speaker up there) is the officiating pastor! and doesn't the Bible say that the Church is the Bride of Christ? =)
Perhaps the steps of the pple are not as well-rehearsed or as highly-looked-forward as those of a real bride yet the experience is not that much different as one experienced in a wedding...=) Feelings of "what's life gonna be like after this", perhaps... Feelings of "don't know what is gonna happen to me in future", maybe... Feelings of "I feel like running away!", rarely but not impossibly... =) etc etc etc.... =)
I've never been a bride in real life and i know i won't experience it at all in the natural... yet i know i've had a taste of the divine experience to be a divine Bride to a heavenly Bridegroom... =) i know those who are married or are getting married will be able to share more of the experience and feelings of walking down the aisle... but for me, every Sunday, i look forward to clap loudly and cheer gladly for those who are walking down the same aisle to come before the pastor and to the same Heavenly Bridegroom as i did before... and as i do tat, sometimes my thoughts bring me back to that same beautiful day that marked the beginning of my marriage-relationship with my beloved Jesus... =)
Be blessed, beloved Bride of Christ... =)
