Do not despise your small beginnings!

Another interesting discussion from Sean's blog. Good things are meant to be shared=D
Heard Something shared over Teh Tarik tonight that i felt was really meaningful, and a good reminder as well... =)

Will paraphrase what was said:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We all know David was used by God Mightily; David slew lions, bears, wild beasts before he slew Goliath. David was anointed by God as King over Israel, but he served and behaved wisely under king Saul, and was victorious in Battles, David Eventually became the greatest King Israel had.

We know that David did MANY things for God... BUT:

What if David died before he became King? What if David had died as a young shepherd boy defending sheep from the Lion?

Would he then receive a lesser portion in heaven before God? Because David didn't manage to do all that he was destined to?

No. I believe that David would still receive the same Great Reward from God, It would not change, Because David was Faithful in whatever God had for him to do at whichever Juncture in his life regardless. "

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David was Faithful. To do whatever God had for him, at whichever part of his life.

That spoke volumes to me, Because i realise that no matter how great a destiny a person can have, he'll never reach there by simply pining for it, or waiting for it, or getting frustrated about it, or by trying to reach it, or by manipulating situations to get to it, or by overstepping his season and etc, etc... he arrives at his destiny by being Faithful to what God has for him in the present. In doing that he honours God, he honours what God has placed in his life by doing what ever God has for him to do at whatever given moment in time.

And this is wonderful: We know that we CAN do whatever God has for us to do in the present moment because the GRACE to do them has already been supplied to us by God. Because God has a Destiny for us, He annoints those steps He plans for us to take in order to reach it.

Which means whatever you have now today in your life to do is the result of a divine appointment by God for the great plans He has for Your life! Might be even that whatever you're doing now can seem to you to be far away from that dream in your heart.

In reply : Wow. That's amazing. I was sharing with my youths or rather they were sharing with me the same thing while we were on our way to station! I was asking Brendon, one of the Mighty Men In DARE and Angus what does it mean to arise to a higher level.
Angus said he read on Arise just the day before. At first we thought he was kidding. He then quoted to me 2 Samuel 23:1 and started preaching to me instead.Hee~We were amazed=)but later on Brendon sum up what Angus and I shared=)
And it's a passage from David too.
1 Now these are the last words of David.
Thus says David the son of Jesse;
Thus says the man raised up on high,
The anointed of the God of Jacob,...

He told me that God will first raised us up first. For example, He'll not give you responsibility that you cannot handle and when you take up an area which is not yours, you'll find a lot of opposition or no favor in that area. But when he has raised you, He'll then anoint you for the position he has called you to with favor.
I then told him about what I wrote in my blog previously. To sum it, you arise to a higher level when you do it for the glory of God in that area. A spirit of excellence then will arise in you. And that's how you arise to a higher level.
Brendon sum it by saying, just like if he is called to be a MM now, he will do it with excellence in the area he has been called to and God will raise him up.
(Just a short summary of what was shared in our conversation. Brendon actually did shared a lot more!hehe~Wish I had a recorder then=))
I love spending time with my youths. I was sharing with Yi Xin, one of the Youth Leaders yesterday that I enjoy listening to what my youths have, the revelation they receive...moreso the quiet ones at times. Cause you'll be amazed at how they speak to you and help you learn too=)Listen closely to them the next time when you have an opportunity to.God speaks through them too=D
Do not despise the small beginnings you see in yourself at times, because God uses the weak things of the world to confound the mighty amen!
Like what Pastor Daniel said, there is a seed of greatness in each of us waiting to be manifested. One day, it'll be a huge tree with deep roots standing firm!
